Drive Electric Earth Day

Bike rides and electric cars: Come to Montclair Climate Action’s April events

Join Montclair Climate Action on Sunday April 24, as we celebrate Earth Day with two events focusing on what individuals can do to save the planet and address the climate crisis.

From 1 -4 pm, in the front parking lot of Lackawanna Plaza (off Bloomfield Avenue) come to our Drive Electric Montclair event, co-sponsored with the Sierra Club and GreenFaith. With gas prices rising, and fossil fuels destroying the planet, there has never been a better time to switch to electric vehicles. Come talk with Montclair residents who have electric vehicles, check out their cars, and learn about the benefits of going electric. We’ll have a variety of makes and models, including Tesla, Ford, Chevy, Audi, Hyundai, VW and more. We’ll even have some e-bikes. And bring the kids! Treat them to ice cream from the ice cream truck on-site, and let them explore the fire truck that will be there while you check out the electric vehicles. Register for updates and find more information here.

The same day, Montclair Climate Action and Bike & Walk Montclair will be hosting a climate bike ride. Biking around town is a great way to reduce carbon emissions, exercise, and notice things around town you’d never see from a car. Ride with us to explore on a mostly flat 8-mile led ride. Kids are welcome! We’ll visit climate-related spots around town including residential rooftop solar panels, the Drive Electric Earth Day event, and Montclair Community Farms to learn about composting. The ride will start and end at Walnut Street Train Station. It will begin promptly at 1pm and will last roughly 2-1/2 hours. Please make sure your tires are pumped, have your helmet and water for the ride!

We hope well you see at these events!
